Rafael Sánchez se incorporó al equipo del Restaurante Plat D'Or, del ArabellaSheraton Golf Hotel Son Vida, en 1996 y es Jefe de Cocina de este prestigioso restaurante (premiado anteriormente con una estrella Michelin) desde 2003.

En su carrera profesional destaca el haber sido finalista entre los 8 jóvenes cocineros del concurso Taittinger a nivel nacional en 2000, y el haber conseguido el segundo puesto en el campeonato de Baleares de jóvenes cocineros en 2003.

Cuando Rafa fue nombrado jefe de cocina de Plat D'Or el restaurante ya había conseguido una estrella Michelin, y un gran reto para este joven cocinero, fue mantener la estrella, cosa que hizo hasta el año 2010, siete años seguidos.

'Su cocina sorprende por sus creaciones ligeras, su frescura, sus aromas originales y su llamativa estética.' Sus platos son creaciones innovadoras con toques de extravagancia.

Rafael Sanchez joined the kitchen staff at Plat d'Or Restaurant, at the ArabellaSheraton Golf Hotel Son Vida, in 1996 and has been Executive Chef of this prestigious restaurant (previously awarded a Michelin star) since 2003.

Amongst his many professional achievements it is worth noting his having been a finalist of the Taittinger Competition in 2000 and his having won second place at the Balearic competition of young Chefs in 2003.

When Rafa was named Head Chef at Plat d'Or, the restaurant had already been awarded a Michelin star; so one of this young Chef's greatest challenges was to maintain the star. Rafa won the Michelin star again for seven consecutive years, until 2010.

'His cuisine is surprising for its light creations, its freshness, its original aromas and its attrative presentation.' His dishes are innovative culinary creations all topped with a sprinkling of extravagance.
