Jaime Martin Cáceres Asselin nació en Nueva York, pero realizó sus estudios escolares en Lima, Peru. También estudió en Suiza e Inglaterra, estableciéndose en Mallorca en 1987 para estudiar derecho, pero al darse cuenta que no era lo suyo cambió al sector turístico.

Su andadura en la restauración empieza en La Trattoria de Cala Mayor y luego pasa al Grupotel Valparaíso Palace. De allí pega un salto de categoría como Maitre del restaurante Chopin en Palma.  Luego pasa a lo que 'sería mi segunda casa y en donde más aprendí de la mano de Marc Fosh': el Read's Hotel & Spa. Durante el tiempo en Read's obtuvieron la tan ansiada estrella Michelin en el 2002. De allí estuvo también en el Hotel Valldemossa y al cabo de un año, volvió a Read's para desempeñar funciones de Maitre y General Manager.

Después en Hotel Son Brull, donde se le brindó una gran oportunidad que no pudo llegar a desarrollar puesto que los propietarios del Mood Beach ya le habían ofrecido el cargo de este proyecto en Puerto Portals que se inauguró en el verano del 2007.

Jaime Martin Cáceres Asselin was born in New York but went to school in Lima, Peru. He studied in Switzerland and England, settling in Majorca in 1987 to study law, but realizing that this was not his vocation, he changed his major to tourism.

His career in the restaurant business started at La Trattoria in Cala Mayor, followed by Grupotel Valparaíso Palace. After that, a leap up in position as he became Maitre of Chopin restaurant in Palma. Then Jaime accepted a position at Read's Hotel & Spa which 'became my second home and where I learned an enormous amount from Marc Fosh'. During his time there, Read's was awarded a Michelin Star in 2002. Jaime was also at Hotel Valldemossa for a year after which he returned to Read's to serve as General Manager and Maitre.

While he was at Son Brull Hotel, he was given a great opportunity that he was unable to develop because the owners of Mood Beach had already offered him this project in Puerto Portals which was inaugurated in the summer of 2007.
