IRU restaurant opened in 1944 and since then has been run by the Escandell family. It is located on the pedestrian walkway in the Port of Pollensa.
The restaurant was completely renovated in 2003 in a fresh, minimalist style, creating a relaxing and charming atmosphere right on the sea front.
At IRU restaurant you'll find 'New Mallorcan Cuisine', where the aim is to combine innovative ideas with traditional recipes to create delicious dishes. Enjoy your meal in the spacious dining room, or out on the comfortable terrace with views of the harbour.
Driving in from Pollensa or Alcudia take the main road into the Port until the circle. The retaurant is within walking distance of the circle at the entrance to the port

'New Mallorcan Cuisine' - All dishes are freshly made with the best ingredients. Fresh homemade pasta dishes, rice dishes / paellas, homemade desserts. All Menus are adapted regularly to accommodate seasonal changes.

There is also a Bistro Service (only at midday) - Salads; Fresh Pasta; Variety of Sandwiches; Snacks - Omelettes, Grilled Sea Bream, Grilled Entrecote, Paellas, and the IRU Hamburger

Starters - Green salad leaves with aubergines, goat's cheese and tomatoes; 'Zarzuela' IRU fish soup; Terrine of foie gras with spices and honey bread and homemade chutney; Risottos
Meats and Fish - Roast suckling pig sweetened with tumbet and crunchy onion; Rack of New Zealand lamb with raisins and pine nut sauce; Grilled sea bass with sauteéd vegetables and mashed potatoes with ginger; Grilled hake with Thai curry sauce and aromatic rice
Desserts - Chocolate soufflé with white chocolate sauce; Creme Bruleé with chocolate cookies; Almond 'Gató' cake with Cinnamon milk ice cream
A banqueting service is offered for any type of event for up to 70 people. Special company menus available. Please book at least 10 days in advance.
Temperature controlled wine cellar. An extensive list of about 100 Spanish wines with Designation of Origin. There are also wines from Mallorca (e.g. Macia Batle, Miguel Gelabert, Miguel Oliver and Toni Gelabert). Sparkling wines, Champagnes and Sweet Wines available.
