Hanaita Restaurant
Hanaita in Santa Catalina
Another great, even though surreal experience, last night for dinner at Hanaita in Santa Catalina!
The first impression was that it would be a long night with no experience above average. The fluorescent lighting and very average, yet very clean, decor, was not what I normally associate with a memorable dinner. I learnt a big lesson ..... never again judge a chef or their kitchen, by their choice of decor!
The food, for those who know and appreciate good quality and well-cut sushi and sashimi, was subliminal! From the carpaccio to the tofu to the array of fresh fish and the surprising jamon nigiri, everything was delectable!
The Spanish maitre had a very cocky attitude, which I believe he has developed because of “mi jefe's” (as he calls his boss/chef), high and clear standards, but his service was impeccable.
You do not get in there without a reservation, and it was incredible how many people tried while we were there.
A great recommendation for people who like a very pleasant surprise!
