    Description
    IRU restaurant, founded in 1944 and since then run by the Escandell family, is located on the pedestrian walkway in the Port of Pollensa. The restaurant was completely renovated in 2003 in a fresh, minimalist style, creating a relaxing and charming atmosphere right on the sea front. At IRU, we combine very innovative and modern ideas with traditional recipes to create delicious and 'not standard' dishes. Enjoy your meal in the large spacious dining room, or out on the terrace. 
     

      

    Directions
    Driving in from Pollenca or Alcudia take the main road into the Port until the circle. The retaurant is within walking distance of the circle at the entrance to the port

    'New Mallorcan Cuisine' - All dishes are made with fresh ingredients, and at the moment they are ordered. Everything is homemade. Special diets catered for.

    All Menus are adapted regularly to accommodate seasonal changes.

    Menu of the Day €15 (excluding wine & tax) - Choose from 4 starters, 4 main courses, and dessert.

    Special Tasting Menu €45 (only available by special request)

    There is also a Bistro Service (only at midday) -- Salads; Fresh Pasta; Variety of Sandwiches; Snacks -- Omelettes, Grilled Sea Bream, Grilled Entrecote, Paellas, and our Hamburger

    Starters - Foie gras terrine with dried fruit and carob bread and sweetened red onions; Crunchy vegetables with melted goat's cheese and raspberry vinaigrette; Zarzuela 'IRU fish soup'; Parmesan risotto with black truffle

    Meats - Roast suckling pig sweetened with our ' tumbet'; Stuffed chicken breast with serrano ham and tender garlic with potatoes mallorcan-style; Leg of young lamb in a herbs crust with rosemary and honey sauce (min 2 persons); Grilled entrecote with vegetables

      

    Fish (Filleted) - Grilled seabass fillet with vegetables and romescu sauce; Cod in its juice with raisins, pinenuts and capers; Turbot with tender beans 'a la mallorquina' IRU style; Monkfish with herb crust on fried seafood and smooth dill oil

    Banquets, catering for groups of up to 70 people. Special company menus available. Please book at least 10 days in advance.
     
    Wine list
    Temperature controlled wine cellar. An extensive list of over 150 Denomination of Origin wines from Mallorca (e.g. Jose Ferrer, Macia Batle, Miguel Gelabert, Miguel Oliver, Toni Gelabert), and Spain (e.g. Rioja, Ribera del Duero (Vega Sicilia, Flor de Pinous), Penedes, Toro (Nomantia), Navarra, Somontano, La Mancha). Also wines from France (La Fleur (Petrus) 'Pommerol'), Australia and California. Cavas, Champagnes and Sweet Wines available.
