Description
Ca'n Mateu restaurant is located in an ancient 400 year-old Hostal where farmers and travelling salesmen, who took the route to Palma to offer their products on the market, found accommodation. In 1862 it was acquired by Mateu Ballester of the Order of San Juan of Malta. In 1971 the building was converted into a restaurant, and it is still run by the fifth generation of the Ballester Family. Ca'n Mateu offers traditional mallorcan home cooking, using fresh products from the island and from the family's own gardens and livestock. The restaurant recently underwent improvements and renovations, making Ca'n Mateu a very modern and spacious place. At the same time, the rustic and charming aspects of the past have been conserved. It has a bar terrace with a large garden and swimming pool - an ideal location to celebrate any type of event in summer, or in winter, there are different function rooms inside to choose from. There is also a comprehensive wine cellar, which includes collector's items. 
 




Directions
Ca'n Mateu is found just off the old main road from Palma to Manacor. From the first circle on the Palma - Manacor motorway follow the signs to Can Mateu for about 1 km.

Matanzas (meats) with Rice; Roast of suckling pig Ca'n Mateu; Almond cake with almond ice cream

In summer: Mar y Montaña (rabbit and prawns); Venison with a blueberry sauce; Fig biscuit with a chocolate sauce

Other facilities
Ample and varied banqueting facilities. For banquets in summer, the garden can accommodate up to 500 guests at round tables and up to 700 at rectangular tables.

Inside, the restaurant offers various function room facilities. The main dining room can hold up to 300 guests. There are two other function rooms for 80 and 100 people.

Please book your event at least 2 weeks in advance.

The restaurant can serve a la carte for groups of up to 30 people. 
 
Wine list
A great selection of Spanish wines (there are about 90 different wines in the cellar). Ca'n Mateu has a temperature controlled cellar in the main dining room, with Wines of Origin predominantly from Mallorca, La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedes and Navarra. Also Cavas (sparkling wines) and Champagnes.
